This is the wordpress “calendar” widget. I’m not sure if it’s for adding events or for some other purpose, e.g., listing blog posts.

This is the “event calendar” widget from the Essential Add-ons for Elementor package. Theoretically it can be used with The Events Calendar plugin. Without that, events must be put in manually, which is pretty tedious to customize. It’s nice that you can toggle between monthly, daily, etc., views, but unless it can be linked with The Events Calendar, it would be pretty laborious.
Placeholder for “Modern Events Calendar” plugin in list view. You can add featured image and other customization (needs to be tweaked some more), and the appearance is pretty clean. But on the front end the viewer can’t customize their view of the calendar (e.g., list, month or single day). Also seemingly no Back button to return from a single event to the calendar or master list.
Placeholder for “Modern Events Calendar” plugin in calendar view (month). I like the category dropdown (center vs. other events, etc.; we can customize). You have to click on the exact date of an event in the calendar for it to show up on the right side. The search function does work, but it will only display a month where the applicable event is taking place. It won’t list the event itself. So it’s not very intuitive.

Placeholder for Events Manager Calendar Plugin. Requires liberal use of shortcodes to customize properly.
