How Foundations are Responding to the Supreme Court Affirmative Action Rulings
March 7 @ 2:00 pm - 3:15 pmFree
Join the Center for Effective Philanthropy and Philanthropy New York on Thursday, March 7, 2-3:15pm ET for a webinar examining new CEP research on how foundations are responding to the Supreme Court’s rulings on affirmative action.
In the wake of the Supreme Court’s June 2023 rulings against university policies that take race directly into account for admissions, there was concern that the changes would discourage philanthropic efforts to support racial equity. In this webinar, we will discuss the findings of CEP’s new research (to be released February 21) revealing that while responding foundations — at the time of the survey — were discussing the rulings, few planned to make changes, and some were, in fact, leaning into racial equity work more deeply.
Co-hosted by Philanthropy New York, the webinar will feature a presentation of CEP’s new research followed by a discussion about implications of the Supreme Court decision and how leaders at grantmaking, higher education, and equity-focused organizations are currently shaping their responses to the shifting landscape.
