League of Women Voters Democracy Organizer Info Session
May 15 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
FreeDemocracy is fragile and the League of Women Voters of New Jersey’s work defending and strengthening it is critical. The balance of power in our state is lopsided, with powerful politicians and special interest dollars drowning out the voices of our communities. We can and must empower voters to take back their power, hold their elected officials accountable, and pass community-driven policy reforms.
To put power back in the hands of voters, we are proud to announce that the League of Women Voters of New Jersey is launching the Democracy Organizer Program! Democracy organizers will lead the movement for a new, stronger democracy in local communities across the state.
The Democracy Organizer Program is a six-month training and volunteer experience that will empower new and emerging leaders to mobilize their communities. The program runs from July 2023 – December 2023.
Democracy Organizers will work alongside New Jersey communities to build grassroots power in the fight for a more inclusive and accessible democracy. This is a great opportunity for activists looking for meaningful and impactful volunteer experience while building skills, acquiring professional training, meeting new people and growing a powerful network.
