PREVENTING EXPOSURE TO CHEMICAL & DISINFECTANT HAZARDS

May 13 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Employers must protect their workers from exposure to hazardous chemicals used for cleaning and disinfecting. Employers should be aware that common sanitizers and sterilizers could contain hazardous chemicals. Where workers are exposed to hazardous chemicals, employers must comply with OSHA’s Hazard Communication standard (in general industry, 29 CFR 1910.1200), Personal Protective Equipment standards (in general industry 29 CFR 1910 Subpart I) and other applicable OSHA chemical standards.

Employers have a responsibility under OSHA’s HazCom Standard to educate and train employees about the chemicals they work with and how to protect themselves from any potential hazards.

Join us for a virtual workshop as we discuss:

  • OSHA’s HazCom standard
  • Assessing chemical hazards and understanding safety data sheets

Who Should Attend? Workers and employers who provide health services to individuals including those employed in hospitals, long term care facilities, physician offices, clinics/treatment centers, community health providers, and other home and education health service providers.

Participant space is limited, please register early.
