Preventing Exposure to Workplace Chemicals

July 11, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Free

Employers must protect their workers from exposure to hazardous chemicals used for cleaning and disinfecting. Employers should be aware that common sanitizers and sterilizers could contain hazardous chemicals. Where workers are exposed to hazardous chemicals, employers must comply with OSHA’s Hazard Communication standard (in general industry, 29 CFR 1910.1200), Personal Protective Equipment standards (in general industry 29 CFR 1910 Subpart I) and other applicable OSHA chemical standards.

Employers have a responsibility under OSHA’s HazCom Standard to educate and train employees about the chemicals they work with and how to protect themselves from any potential hazards.

Join us for a virtual workshop as we discuss:

  • OSHA’s HazCom standard
  • Assessing chemical hazards and understanding safety data sheets

Who Should Attend? Workers employed both in healthcare and non-healthcare who are at risk of hazardous chemical exposure  such as hospital, social service, retail, service, child care, restaurant, manufacturing, transportation, distribution, warehouse, and Labor/Management Health and Safety Committee Members, Union representatives, Health and Safety Professionals, Supervisors, and Risk Managers.

Participant space is limited, please register early.
