Voter Engagement: Your Nonprofit’s Pivotal Role in Building an Inclusive Democracy

June 12 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Nonprofits are uniquely positioned to help foster higher levels of voter engagement and help remove gaps in our democracy created when large segments of the public are left out of the political process.  Eliminating barriers to political participation can help ensure New Jersey’s diverse communities are empowered to build both political and community power.

Join us on June 12th from 10:00am to 11:00am for a free webinar to learn the why’s, when’s and how’s of insuring your nonprofit is an effective part of this incredibly important role.

Our speakers are Gwen Stembridge, Education and Partnerships Coordinator, Nonprofit VOTE and Melissa Marks, Senior Organizer, League of Women Voters of New Jersey.  Gwen and Melissa will discuss:

  • Why it is important for nonprofits to interact with voters, and key concepts and strategies for effective voter engagement, with real-world examples of do’s and don’ts.
  • Findings from the 2024 Nonprofit Power Report indicating why nonprofits are crucial to building a more equitable democracy.
  • How to remain nonpartisan during these hyper-partisan election cycles, including specific tips on conversation strategies.
  • Applicable approaches to encourage voter registration.
  • Important dates, deadlines, and election information for New Jersey’s November elections.
  • How to gain access to tools, worksheets, and other resources to make this work easy, accessible, and even fun!

This event is free to all. Click here to register.
