Youth Workforce Development Program Information and Training Session
March 23 @ 11:00 am - 11:30 am
FreeThis is an opportunity for nonprofits who wish to host an intern to learn about how the Jersey Cares Youth Workforce Development Program will give them access to serious candidates who are committed to gaining skills and knowledge while helping the nonprofit to advance its mission. There will also be training information for nonprofit leaders who would like to learn about the process of hosting an intern so that the experience is beneficial for their organization and the intern alike.
The Youth Workforce Development Program is for people ages 16-24 who are matched with nonprofits to serve as interns for 120 hours over the course of 12 weeks. Other requirements include attending 2 professional development workshops and creating a presentation detailing their internship for “Demonstration Day”. Those who satisfy all of the requirements will receive a stipend of $250 at the program’s end. Many of the students we recruit are in college or high school. However, academic enrollment is not mandatory. They just have to meet the age criteria. This is a wonderful opportunity for people to learn the value of nonprofits in society and to also gain workforce experience to advance themselves.
