National membership organization offering comprehensive support and training for nonprofits and their boards of trustees; website includes useful Frequently Asked Questions area about board roles and responsibilities.

The National Council of Nonprofits –
The National Council of Nonprofits is the nation’s largest nonprofit network. Website has a wealth of information about charitable nonprofits, resources for a wide variety of topics, updates and analysis of public policy issues, capacity building and more. If you’re not in New Jersey, you can also find your own state association of nonprofits on this site.

State chapter of national membership organization of fund raising professionals (consultants and development employees of charitable organizations. Activities include monthly member meetings and an annual Conference on Philanthropy. National AFP website can be accessed at

Grant Professionals Association – New Jersey Chapter –
A nonprofit professional association of grant writers, grant managers, and grant consultants offering networking, resources and educational programs. – allows organizations to electronically find and apply for more than $400 billion in Federal grants. is THE single access point for over 1,000 grant programs offered by all Federal grant making agencies.

Jobs section of comprehensive Action Without Borders website, lists job openings nationwide and also has a wealth of links to other job-related sites around the world.

New Jersey Center for Nonprofits Jobs Page –

New Jersey’s Nonprofit Information Center portal is as a one-stop shop for nonprofits in New Jersey seeking to utilize various funding sources and volunteer opportunities available through the State.

Charities Registration Section, NJ Division of Consumer Affairs –
Most New Jersey Charities are required to register with this office, which is part of the Department of Law and Public Safety. Site includes a searchable database of registered charities and links to the online registration portal.
