Job Definition: Job Definition: Provides financial information by researching accounting data and preparing reports.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Perform grant-related tasks, including creating budgets, monitoring, expense reports, variance analysis, and reconciliations.
Assist with the grant application process by preparing the program’s financial information.
Maintain a schedule of reporting dates and deadlines, ensure all grants, private donations, and funder fiscal requirements are timely and accurate, and act as the fiscal single point of contact for grant budgetary compliance.
Reconcile journal entries for grant payments.
Prepare journal entries for the balance sheet and P & L reports.
Reconcile month-end closing and year-end audits.
Record adjusting entries for month-end closing, including prepaid and accrued expenses.
Prepare budgets encompassing forecasting, modeling, accounting, reporting, and financial analysis.
Provide explanations and recommendations for variances from the budget.
Prepare periodic budget forecasts and actual costs.
Submit quarterly reports for all grants.
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed.
Prepare payments, checks, invoices, and reconciliations as needed.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and follow accounting regulations.
Assist with budget preparation and audits.
Prepare all accounting statements as required.
Assist with other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Staff Accountant minimum 10-years’ experience
Profound experience with variance, forecasting, modeling, and financial analysis.
Good practical experience with accounting software; NetSuite Preferred
Experienced in non-profit Fund Accounting.
Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel skills (knowledge of functionalities, VLOOKUPs, and Pivots)
Strong analytical skills and ability to manage large amounts of data.
Strong team management skills, excellent problem-solver, and ability to define priorities.
Accuracy and close attention to details
Ability to articulate clearly.
Advanced business writing skills for memos, emails, documents, and other materials and Excellent verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
· Commitment/experience in working with culturally diverse communities and the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate.

Compensation: $65,000 - $70,000/annually
