Schedule: Part-time – 18-24 hours per week / 2-3 days per week
Salary: $50,000 annual
Scope:
The Sustainability Coordinator will work with the leadership, marketing & finance teams to research funding opportunities, develop strategies for future growth, implement new projects, create new community relationships, and improve existing partnerships.
With support, the priority of the Sustainability Coordinator is to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and financial stability of the organization by:
- Identifying and bridging service gaps in the community;
- Conducting needs assessments to identify community needs;
- Assisting with the development of funding opportunities and grant writing;
- Developing, implementing, and assessing sustainability plans that align with organization or community goals and values;
- Tracking progress toward sustainability goals and reporting results to the CEO and upper management through regular reports and presentations;
- Researching best practices for the allocation of funding and resources;
- Monitoring best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to keep the organization informed and sustainable without compromising the objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Identification and cultivation of new and existing nonprofit funding sources
- Proposal presentation, development, and execution
- Manage relationships with long-standing and new funders
- Develop and manage a pipeline of targeted supporters for programs
- Write strong proposals, presentations, acknowledgments, reports, and grants
- Lead meetings with internal teams to identify unmet community needs, services, and funding gaps, as well as to identify existing or potential resources/services that can help
- Manage, development, and execution of meetings at conferences
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Non-profit experience preferred
- 5+ years of experience with grant writing, assessing funding gaps/needs, identifying possible donors, and supporting non-profit fundraising efforts
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in fundraising/non-profit management (or similar)
- Superior grant writing skills to craft compelling proposals and targeted meaningful communications for donor development
- Collaborative, self-starting & follow-up skills are a must – will work closely with Communications Specialist and Fund Development committees
- Strong interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills – ability to deliver effective presentations
- Collaborative attitude: strong ability to work well cross-functionality with other departments and local chapters
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills
- Computer proficiency in various standard programs – experience with Google Suite is a plus
- Bilingual is a plus
- Knowledge of mental health and substance use impact is a plus
